Retirement Calculator
Estimate how retirement savings could grow from your current age to a target retirement age. The result shows the projected nominal balance, total contributions and an inflation-adjusted balance in today's dollars.
This is a deterministic projection, not a forecast. Taxes, fees, contribution limits, employer matches and sequence-of-returns risk are not modeled.
How this tool works
The balance compounds monthly using the assumed annual return, with monthly contributions added over the selected years. The inflation-adjusted value discounts the future balance by the inflation assumption.
Example
A saver with 30 years remaining has far more compounding periods than someone with 10 years remaining, even at the same monthly contribution.
Common questions
Does this include Social Security or a pension?
No. It projects the investment balance only.
Is a constant annual return realistic?
It is a planning assumption, not a forecast. Actual returns vary from year to year.
