How this tool works
The source bitmap is decoded, drawn to canvas at its original dimensions and encoded with canvas.toDataURL in the selected MIME format.
Example
A PNG screenshot can be converted to WebP for a smaller web asset, while a WebP image can be exported as PNG for applications that do not accept WebP.
Common questions
Does converting PNG to JPEG preserve transparency?
No. JPEG does not support alpha transparency; transparent areas may be flattened by the browser encoder.
Can this convert RAW camera files?
Only formats the browser can decode are supported. RAW photography formats generally require a dedicated decoder.
