kW, kVA & Amps Calculator

Convert real power in kilowatts to apparent power in kVA and line current using system voltage, phase and power factor.

Apparent power100 kVA
Current120.3 A

How this tool works

kVA = kW ÷ PF. Single-phase I = kVA × 1000 ÷ V. Three-phase I = kVA × 1000 ÷ (√3 × V).

Example

A 90 kW load at 0.90 power factor equals 100 kVA. At 480 V three-phase, that is about 120 A.

Common questions

What power factor should I enter?

Use measured or equipment-specific power factor when available.

Does efficiency belong in this conversion?

This tool converts electrical kW to kVA and current. If starting from mechanical output power, account for equipment efficiency first.
