How this tool works

The crop rectangle is clamped to the source bitmap. The browser draws only that source rectangle onto a new canvas and exports the result.

Example

For a 1920×1080 image, x=460, y=240, width=1000 and height=600 extracts the centered 1000×600 region.

Common questions

What do X and Y mean?

X is the number of pixels from the left edge and Y is the number of pixels from the top edge.

What happens if the crop extends past the image?

The tool clamps the output to the available source pixels rather than inventing pixels beyond the image boundary.
