How this tool works
Order area = room length × width × (1 + waste%). Box count = ceiling(order area ÷ coverage per box).
Example
A 252 ft² room with 10% waste and 22.5 ft² per box requires enough whole boxes to cover at least 277.2 ft².
Common questions
Why round to whole boxes?
Most flooring is sold by full carton, so fractional calculated boxes must be rounded up.
What waste percentage should I use?
Layout, plank/tile size, room shape and pattern affect waste. Use the manufacturer or installer recommendation for your project.
