How this tool works

Final price = original × (1−d₁) × (1−d₂). Effective discount = 1 − final/original.

Example

A $120 item discounted 25% costs $90; an additional 10% discount makes it $81, an effective 32.5% reduction rather than 35%.

Common questions

Do two discounts simply add together?

No. Sequential discounts multiply against the reduced price, so 25% then 10% equals a 32.5% effective discount.

Does the calculator include tax?

No. Use the Sales Tax Calculator on the discounted price if tax is applied afterward.
