Base64 Encoder / Decoder
Convert text to and from Base64 directly in the browser, including Unicode text encoded as UTF-8.
Unicode text is encoded as UTF-8 before Base64 conversion.
How this tool works
Encoding converts the UTF-8 byte sequence to Base64. Decoding reverses Base64 to bytes and then interprets those bytes as UTF-8 text.
Example
Encoding “CrunchAnything” produces a portable Base64 string that can be decoded back to the original text.
Common questions
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is a reversible text encoding and provides no confidentiality.
Does Unicode work?
Yes. Text is converted through UTF-8 rather than assuming one byte per character.
