SQL Formatter
Clean up a compact SQL query for quick reading by separating major clauses and indenting common AND/OR conditions.
How this tool works
The formatter normalizes whitespace, uppercases common SQL clause keywords and inserts line breaks before major clauses. It is a lightweight formatter rather than a full SQL parser.
Example
A one-line SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE ... ORDER BY query becomes a clause-per-line query that is easier to scan.
Common questions
Which SQL dialect is supported?
The formatter targets common ANSI-style clauses and does not attempt dialect-specific parsing for every database.
Can formatting change query behavior?
This tool only changes whitespace and keyword presentation, but review complex or vendor-specific SQL before execution.
