Options Profit Calculator

Build and analyze option strategies with up to eight option legs plus an optional stock position. Load a configured live option chain or import CSV, TSV or JSON from a broker, then add contracts directly into the position. Review modeled Greeks, breakevens, a price-by-date P/L heatmap and an overlay comparing estimated pre-expiration value with expiration payoff.

Model scope

Before expiration, this tool uses a Black-Scholes European-style approximation. At expiration it uses intrinsic payoff. It is an educational modeling tool, not a brokerage quote, execution system, recommendation or guarantee. American-style exercise, discrete dividends, assignment, borrow costs, commissions, liquidity, slippage and changing volatility surfaces can materially change real outcomes.

How this tool works

At expiration, option value is intrinsic value. Before expiration, the calculator uses a Black-Scholes European-style approximation with each leg’s implied volatility, the selected risk-free rate and dividend yield. Position P/L is modeled option value minus entry premium for long legs, with the sign reversed for short legs.

Example

For a bull put spread, load or paste the chain, sell the higher-strike put and buy the lower-strike put. The chart shows expiration payoff while the heatmap estimates how P/L may change across underlying prices and dates before expiration if the entered IVs remain constant.

Common questions

Does this include implied volatility and time decay?

Yes. Before expiration, each leg is modeled with its entered implied volatility and time remaining. The heatmap holds IV constant unless you change it, so it is a scenario model rather than a quote forecast.

Can I import an option chain?

Yes. You can load a configured live provider or locally parse CSV, TSV or JSON exported from a broker. Common headers and OCC option symbols are recognized automatically.

Does the model handle American exercise and assignment?

No. The pre-expiration model uses a European-style Black-Scholes approximation and does not model early exercise, assignment, slippage, commissions or discrete dividends.
